Bella steps up to break the record for the loudest purr!
Bella's owner, Nicole heard that the title of loudest purr by a domestic cat (living) was up for grabs and she knows Bella is up to the challenge!
She says her cat’s purr is SO loud, she has to turn the TV up so she can hear it when her furry friend is around. She also says Bella is happiest and purrs the loudest when she’s had a bowl of her favourite WHISKAS® food! Let’s find out if a tasty WHISKAS® meal can help her break the record!

With official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator, Dave Wilson, at the ready and the house prepped for accurate measurements to be taken, it’s time to see if Bella has what it takes to break the record. David Wilson says: “In lieu of there being a current record holder for this category, the record to beat for Bella was set at 50db based on many factors including previous record holders, the overall 'loudest purr ever' record as well as advances in recording and measuring technology.”

Bella is a new record holder!
She’s only gone and done it! Bella is officially the new record holder for the loudest purr by a domestic cat (living). This cool cat registered a purr measuring at an impressive 54.6 decibels, which has an equal volume to the sound of a kettle boiling – we all know how loud that can be when you’re trying to watch your favourite TV show – and it sent our WHISKAS® Brand purr-o-meter off the scale! Now all Nicole needs to do is find a special spot in their home to show off Bella’s new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS certificate.
