Kittens are creatures of habit

Your kitten can develop habits very quickly and, often, it can be extremely hard to get him out of them.

This is particularly true where food is concerned. Some kittens nibble throughout the day. Others will only eat at fixed times and start to ‘miaow’ loudly when their usual feeding time has passed and there’s nothing in their bowl.

The same is true for sleeping habits. Kittens will choose to sleep where they like, usually a bed made up with a blanket, or a clean, old jumper in which they can hide. If you don’t want to upset and anger your kitten, you need to make sure these cosy nests are accessible all day.

Stroking your kitten can soon raise expectations too. Whether you choose to stroke him in the morning when you wake up, or in the evening when you come home from work, he will remember when he’s supposed to be stroked. So make sure you remember too. Otherwise your four-legged friend could end up being even more demanding.

In a nutshell, if you want to keep him happy, keep to his routine.
